Rubery 2 -0 Dosthills. Nicky Wood scored two fine goals from long range in the first 5 minutes. A tremendous defensive effort from all the girls then followed to give Rubery their first league win and first clean sheet of the season.
Rubery 1 - 3 Holy Souls Foxes. Nicky Wood scored another brilliant solo goal to equalise. The girls had chances to pull it back to 2-2 but very tired legs from the first game led to a defensive error late in the game that was punished by Foxes.

U16's lost 7-5 in a cup 'battle royal' at Premiership 3rd place Pheonix United. Although still struggling with huge injuries our lads were superb and deserved to take the game into extra-time at least.

Rubery's goal came from a great through ball to put Mark in to space 15 yards from gaol, where he sized up a fantastic strike in to the top of the net.

Rubery’s 2nd league game of the season turned into goal feast with CONNOR GOERGE and JACK SKETT scoring 5 each, RICHARD MASHAVIRA scored twice on his debut, JOE LOVETT headering his 1st of two goals, KRIS HARPER scored his 1st goal of the season . RYAN MULHOLLAND continued his goal scoring form with 7 goals while SEAN CLINTON finished ONYX off. All the lads played their part in an amazing turn around from last season.

An evenly fought contest, the greater experience of the Foxes perhaps being the difference between the two sides. Mistakes in the first half cost Rubery dearly. Despite a tremendous effort in the second half Rubery failed to convert their pressure into goals.

U16's game was abandoned after 47 minutes with a 1-1 score-line due to a serious head injury to a Rubery Lad. He is fine now and recovering at home.

Adult match report 13/08/06 MAYFLY OLD BOYS 2 RUBERY FC(Sun) 1 Another season starts and considering it was the first game what a great game it turned out to be with both teams playing some great football throughout this encounter. Both sides produced a standard that would probably have not being out of place in the top league and can only bode well for the rest of the year. Rubery started the brighter and came close with a early effort but with pre season still in the legs fired wide. Rubery gifted Mayfly with a goal on 23 minutes with a mistake which allowed them to fire home but this did not deter Rubery from there game plan but they did start to go a bit more direct instead of keeping the ball and the Mayfly goalkeeper swept up any danger. H/T 1-0 Both teams started well in the second half but it was Rubery that looked the more aggressive and should have tied the lead on a couple of occasions but it was with 76 minutes on the clock and an excellent move from Rubery which was finished with a effort from Adam Holland who fired the ball passed a stranded keeper. But with only 5 minutes left and with Mayfly only having a kick and chase game left in their legs a big kick from the keeper was missed timed and the resulting defensive header found the ball falling to the forward and his looping shot over an onrushing keeper dropped agonisingly into an open net. A draw would have being a fair result for this game but it is something to build on and hopefully things can only improve from here.

This week six teams from Rubery Juniors FC travelled down to Devon to take part in the Devon Championship, U8s, U8 Colts, U10s, U11s, U12 & U13s. The U8s returned with the winning cup, the U8 Colts runners up and Fair Play Award, U11s were also awarded a fair play award and the U12s finished runners up whose final game went to penalties. Well done to all.

Rubery FC Sunday won 4-1 against League Champions Alvechurch Darts to clinch Runners-Up Place and Promotion.

Rubery Juniors Girls finally got theirs and our clubs first ever Girls Team victory.

The Girls playing two teams at Boldmere in a 5-a-side Tournament beat Glebe Farm 5-3 to record their first ever win. They scored a total of 16 goals between the 'Leopards & Cubs Teams' so well done to John and all. Goal-scorers were Nicola 7, Paige 3, Coral 2, Laura, Jo, Emma and an own goal.

Rubery Juniors U15 update: Our lads gained a history making third success by becoming the first team ever to rise from Division 5 to Division 1 with three consecutive promotion seasons.

Rubery Juniors U8's won 2-1 away to Callowbrook Swifts in their last league game of the season. Goals from Morgan O'Sullivan and James Perry-Chambers. An excellent team performance but man of the match went to goalkeeper George Clarke. Rubery Juniors U12's lost 3-1 in the Cup Final v Smithswood. This was a superb battling performance where our lads controlled 75% of the game and played the best quality football throughout. Score line flattered the winners but our boys and the Supporters were a credit to the Club.

Rubery FC Sunday lost 4-1 against Champions Alvechurch Darts in a game that was forced to be moved to Bay Tree.

Rubery FC Sunday won 5-1 at home against Alcester Rovers to strengthen their promotion challenge. Goals from James Gasson, Paul McCourt and a hat-trick from Ashley Sullivan secured the vital points in this top-of-the-table encounter.

Rubery Juniors U14's done the club proud against all the odds in this prestigious competition. Playing on a truly treacherous surface in driving rain and without an experienced keeper, they finished the second half of the tournament with the best record of all the teams present. After trying different keepers our lads settled down to produce some great football and dominate play but failed to qualify for the final. Goals from Jordan (7), Nick (4) and Ben helped frighten the opposition even though we had no keeper. Highlight of the day was the crushing 7-3 victory against Balsall & Berkswell. Well done lads!

Rubery Juniors U12's won 4-3 on penalties in the Semi-Final of the League Cup against Wychall Wanderers which was held at Wast Hills. Score at half time was 1-0 to Rubery with Kurtis Finglas scoring. In injury time Wychall scored forcing extra time. With the score still 1-1 penalties were then taken. Rubery penalty scorers were Jay Wooldridge, Kurtis Finglas, Nathan Williams and Jack Steele. Goalkeeper Ashley Clarke being the hero and saving Wychall's last penalty. Outstanding performance from all, man of the match Jay Wooldridge and Chris Smith. Rubery Juniors U16s won 5-1 at home to Kings Norton in the Birmingham County Minor Challenge Cup r1. Outstanding performance by Rubery against a team we had lost to twice. Rubery go through to round 2 after winning on pens 4-1. Fantastic game which no one deserved to lose. Coldlands were superb guests.

Rubery Juniors U16 Colts Won 3-1 v Chelmsley Town Youth in the Open Cup. A fine battling performance to knock out a team from two divisions higher.Goals from John Myrie and two from Man-of-the-Match Casey Volrath sealed the win.

Rubery Juniors U15s won 6-1 away in the Open Cup to Austin Sport. Our lads eased into the next round with an easy win against a brave Austin outfit. Goals from Eaton (2), Summers, Smith, Sheridan and Brown sealed the victory. Man-of-the-Match Ben Smith.

Rubery Juniors U16 Colts won 2-1 at Shard End Boys. This game had it all. Half way through the first half a Shard End Player broke his leg in a freak collision with our Goalkeeper. The game was held up for 30 minutes while the ambulance arrived and treatment was administered. Because of this stoppage the referee decided that he would finish the game at half time because he had to be elsewhere. With guidance from the League, John Bousfield took over and refereed the second half. 2 great goals from Andre Smith. Man of the match Dave Brookes.

Rubery Juniors U8 Colts won 8-1 away to Hamstead Diamonds. Goals from Alex Pullen, Oliver Rainsford, 2 from Louis Moore, 3 Bradley Stevens and 1 own goal. Man of the match Louis Moore. 6 man Hamstead battled bravely but Rubery never let them settle in a hard fought match. Louis Moore's hatrick was denied by top class goal keeping and the wood work twice. Well done lads, keep it up.

Rubery Juniors U12 Colts drew 3-3 at home at Solihull Tigers. Goals from James Wilson, David Howells and Ryan Mullholland. Rubery gave a better second half performance after going down 3-1 in the first half.

Rubery Juniors U15's (Home) Won 2-1 in the League Cup against one of the favourites and Premiership high-flyers Kingfisher Colts. This was a well deserved victory after a prolific first half which saw our lads take a two goal lead from Nathan Eaton & Jamie Summers. A fine fight back from the visitors kept our lads on their toes even after a very strange penalty decision helped their cause, but we held on well to complete a memorable and fully deserved victory.

A slow start by Rubery who came back from a 2-0 deficit aided with a superb man of the match performance by Daniel Groves two long range shots.
